Unsolicited Message: The Personal Data Protection 2010 (Act 709)

The JPDP wishes to inform the public that under the Personal Data Protection 2010 (Act 709), individuals have the right to prevent their personal data being used to send direct marketing. An individual can do so by informing or replying callers to stop sending information for promotion of services and products. Senders of direct marketing who receive such notification from individuals must take measures to comply within a reasonable period.
