The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (APDP) which came into force on 15 November 2013, requires a separate Code of Practice for each class of data user.

In this Code of Practice, certain terms have been used. The meaning of those terms is explained in Appendix I (Definitions) to this Code of Practice.

This Code of Practice :-

(a) developed by the Data User under Section 23(1)(b) APDP and applicable to the Utilities (Electricity) Sector;

(b) regulate the Processing of Personal Data by Data Users and protect the rights of Data Subjects and Personal Data;

(c) provide an operational approach to the principles of data protection under the APDP; and

(d) applies to all Personal Data and/or Sensitive Personal Data Processed by Data Users.
